First Day of School 2014-2015

It's time to say good-bye to staying up late and sleeping in. Time for waking up early and heading off to school!

Today was the first day of school for our team of girls and boy were they ready!

Hard to believe I have a high school SOPHOMORE!

 

And after 2 long years these girls are at the same school - boy will that make my life a little bit easier. :)

Here's to another wonderful school year; High School Sophomore, 4th Grade, 2nd Grade, Pre-K and the twins are A+ students in the school of cuteness!

100 Days of School & Monster Shirts

The little girls recently celebrated the 100th Day of School. It was blast to create a couple of fun shirts and work on Aubrie's 100 day project.

100 Day Monsters Shirts

What you'll need:
Shirts
Googly Eyes
Fabric Glus - I used Aleen's Fabric Fusion
Puff Paint

If you are unsure of your skill in free-handing the Monster in puff paint, you can lightly sketch it on with a pencil or sewing pen. Glue your googly eyes to the center of your monster.

 

 Once all of your eyes are glued on, trace or freehand your monster.

100 Days of School = 100 Day Smarter!

I love being able to do these fun things for these girls. I dread the day they become "too cool" to let me make monster shirts and drag them out for pictures.

First Day of School {2013-2014 school year}

It's that time of the year again. The fun of summer has passed us by. Gone are the days of sleeping in. The late night swims. The hot afternoon trips to 7-11.

Now our home is filled with shiny shoes. New backpacks. School forms to fill out. Folders and pointy crayons.

This year is a big year. M is a FRESHMAN in high school, D is in the 3rd grade, A is in 1st and Miss H will be starting preschool. And because I like to make things complicated, all of them are at different schools. Yep, that's 4 schools.

It's going to be a busy year and we are ready! Here are the girls on the first day of school.

First Field Trip!

Delanie went on her first field trip last week. They went to a local farm and got a little tour and just all around had a blast.

I think the best part of the trip for her was that she got to go on her VERY.FIRST.BUS.RIDE. Oh my word - the excitement to get to ride the bus could not be controlled.

I love her enthusiasm. I hope she always loves first things this much.

And now it's Aubrie's turn!

100 days of school is pretty exciting for a preschooler too. So exciting that she wanted to wear her shirt a day early! But I talked her out of it and convinced her to save it for today. So this morning she went out the door this morning very excited to be allowed to go to school on a "non-school day". (Thanks Missi - hope they remembered your Diet Coke!)

100 days is exciting, I tell ya!

100 day, 100 days, 100 days of fun

The 100th day of school is a big deal when you're in Kindergarten. I mean BIG. It's so important, that you request a shirt with a "100" on it to wear on the special day. It's so important you've been counting down and talking about it for weeks. And let's not forget the special surprise of 100 goodies from the teacher that you'll be receiving.

So yesterday was THE DAY. 100 big ones.



And because it's such an important day it calls for a "100 Day Lunch". (For some reason I don't have number cookie cutters, but I do have food safe pens.) :)
