The "Look"

This is the look that the 10 year old gives you when she finds out that her dad thought it was a good idea to get her a bike rack for her birthday.
Oh and she is getting something else besides the bike rack - it just hasn't arrived yet. But she will like it - trust me. :)

Yes, this post is all about me. I ordered new glasses last week and they came in yesterday. I love them. They are supah cute!

Silly Crazy Hair Day

Delanie's school had Silly Crazy Hair Day last week. All week leading up to it, she kept telling me about it and man was she excited. So on Thursday morning she woke up and first thing she told me was that it was Silly Crazy Hair Day and she needed Silly Crazy Hair. So this is what we came up with. She loved it! Oh and she loved it even more when her teacher got out the hair glitter and sprayed it in her hair. :)

But she's 2 and doesn't care. She wants what she wants. And she wanted Minnie ears. So there.

Little Miss Smarty Pants

McKenzie was tested for our districts Gifted and Talented Education Program this year. We got the letter today that she was accepted in the category of High Achievement. Woot!!! Go McKenzie!

When you´re the photographer...

Does that mean that you are never in photos? Or does that mean that you have to trust someone else with the camera once in awhile? Or maybe you need to use that new tripod you got from the ´rents and use that remote one has for their camera? Hmmmm....something to ponder.

They can't all be perfect

I wanted to get a quick shoot of my girls in this weekend - you know, for a Mother's Day photo for the Grandma's. It didn't work out too well - we didn't have time to take them to a location, so our yard had to do. I didn't have my prime lens (at the office - oops), so I didn't get the bokeh I would've preferred for the photos. The girls just wanted to play with their toys in the yard. Aubrie wanted nothing to do with sitting with her sisters and kept running off or crying. Oh and did I mention that the sun was harsh? Well, it was - very harsh. Oh well - we'll try again another day. But here are a couple that are cute - minus the blinding sun. Oh well, they can't all be perfect now, can they?

A Birthday Post for Me!

Happy Birthday to me. Today I am 29 - gulp one year closer to 30. Wow - when did that happen? So here is how birthday´s go around here when you are the mom.

Got up, did weights, took shower, got birthday call from the parents, cleaned house, declined a very kind babysitting offer, went to Target, missed birthday call from the sister (sorry!), got McKenzie, came home, didn´t nap, got birthday flowers (thanks Ann!), decided that since the girls did not nap we did want a babysitter, found out that our original babysitting offer left for the evening, found another baby sitter (thanks Nora!), got a birthday bucket of candy, went to Famous Dave´s for dinner - no kids, found out that my real birthday present is back ordered (35 mm 1.8 lens - WOO!), went to Kohl´s and bought new running shoes, got kids, came home, got birthday call from sister, put kids to bed, broke in new running shoes by running 5 miles in under 60 (go me!). Now I will take a shower and read a book and go to bed.

It´s all in a birthday. :)

Because a Friend told me to.

And then I wanted to. She saw the black and white of this photo and thought it would look cool with with the umbrella in color - so I had to do it. I kept the color kind of muted to keep with the whole photo. Turned out pretty fancy, don'tcha think? But it's pretty easy when you have such a gorgeous subject. :)

Almost Double Digits!

It's hard to believe that McKenzie is going to be 10 in just 2 short weeks. Where have the years gone? In celebration we started with photo shoot #1 - since it's raining we have to do these in shifts - here's a quick sample of what we did today.
