100th day of school!

The girls celebrated the 100th day of school today and of course I didn't realize it was the 100th day of school until the night before. Ooops! But I of course wanted to make a little something for the middle girls to wear to school. The girls *really* wanted a 100 eyed monster shirt, but I didn't have 200 googly eyes and it was 9pm the night before. So no, that wasn't happening. So I hopped over to Pinterest to see what else I could find and I found this idea. Very easy concept and I made it even easier by just writing the tally marks with a fabric marker. Easy peasy lemon squeezie. I also add "100 days of school" and "100 dias de escuela" to the shirts, just because I felt it needed a little something else. Aubrie's is in Spanish, because well, she's in Spanish immersion.

Now a quick tutorial:
Gather your tools - shirt, fabric marker(s)
Tally your shirt up to 100
Add some text if you want to the bottom
Have a cute kid wear the completed shirt and snap some photos in front of your outdoor chalkboard. OK, the outdoor chalkboard photos isn't mandatory, but they are pretty cool, right? If you're interested in outdoor chalkboards, here's a tutorial for that. :)

And there you have it: a very easy and quick 100 Days of School shirt!

Winter Formal

My goodness, she's growing up.

McKenzie on her way to the winter formal.

Winter Formal

Who's 4 months? We're 4 months!

My babies are 4 months old.

The are cooing and giggling. Smiling and squealing. Emilie is rolling over and Averie is trying. They are playing and being fun.

They are no longer little itty bitty bumps on a log. They are chubby, rolly and squishy babies.

Slow down babies. Slow down.

Someone lost a tooth...FINALLY!

It's official. My kids don't start losing their teeth until 2nd grade.  McKenzie lost her first tooth then, and so did Delanie. Back in the day when M started losing teeth our tooth fairy sucked. I mean *REALLY* sucked. There were teeth that were on the counter for daaaaaays before the tooth fairy remembered to take it and leave some cash money. Although, M did profit greatly from this. The tooth fairy always felt so bad that she paid interest...BIG interest...20 bucks for a tooth interest.

So when M was done the tooth fairy went back to school. She took some lessons from a really great tooth fairy and was ready for whenever D finally lost a tooth.

Well the time finally came and Delanie had a loose tooth! Over the course of a couple of weeks she wiggled, she jiggled and got that tooth looser and looser. Until finally it was just barely hanging on.

The tooth fairy came. Her name is Purple Sparkle. She let D keep her tooth. She has redeemed herself.

The next morning - 5 bucks, a tooth and a little note.

Merry Christmas - 2012

Christmas. I love everything about it. The decorating, the shopping, the writing of Christmas Lists, Suzie Snowflake coming to visit, the anticipation as the day gets closer and closer. It's pure magic having kids and experiencing Christmas. I know their belief in the man in the red suit won't last forever, but I hope they always believe in the magic. Because Christmas is magical.

The girls love getting things ready for Santa. This year was a sweet letter, carrots for the reindeer, cookie & egg nog. Complete with Delanie making sure to remind him to take good care of our elf, Suzie.

Santa always leaves a little letter of his own, because he knows how much the girls love it!

Christmas morning the girls actually slept in a little bit, go figure. But when they finally did wake up, they were ready to see what Santa brought for them. This is the excitement I LOVE to see!Merry Christmas 2012

While we certainly missed having our big kid with us for Christmas this year, it was an amazing Christmas filled with our little gals and the twinsies. Merry Christmas, all. Let's do it again next year! Because if crayons on Christmas get this big of a smile, it's all worth it.
