First Day of School 2014-2015

It's time to say good-bye to staying up late and sleeping in. Time for waking up early and heading off to school!

Today was the first day of school for our team of girls and boy were they ready!

Hard to believe I have a high school SOPHOMORE!

And after 2 long years these girls are at the same school - boy will that make my life a little bit easier. :)

All of our little gals!

Here's to another wonderful school year; High School Sophomore, 4th Grade, 2nd Grade, Pre-K and the twins are A+ students in the school of cuteness!

First Day of School {2013-2014 school year}

It's that time of the year again. The fun of summer has passed us by. Gone are the days of sleeping in. The late night swims. The hot afternoon trips to 7-11.

Now our home is filled with shiny shoes. New backpacks. School forms to fill out. Folders and pointy crayons.

This year is a big year. M is a FRESHMAN in high school, D is in the 3rd grade, A is in 1st and Miss H will be starting preschool. And because I like to make things complicated, all of them are at different schools. Yep, that's 4 schools.

It's going to be a busy year and we are ready! Here are the girls on the first day of school.

 Let's do this 2013-14!

From summer to school

The 10 weeks between June 3rd and August 18th have flown by. The days were filled with trips to the pool, swim lessons, swim practice, swim meets, more time at the pool.

I truly enjoy the lazy, or not so lazy and rather busy, days of summer. I love spending the days with my girls and lounging around in the mornings. I love spending the day watching them play, fight and enjoy their time together. I love taking them on too many trips to 7-11 to get Slurpee's and candy. I love having them make signs for the ice cream truck so she can make a stop at our house. I love watching them swim in our new pool. I love the cooking on the grill and eating out on the patio.
Celebratory Slurpee's
But as much as I love this time, 10 weeks of 4 kids - 3 of them born within 5 years of each other - is a lot of time. So as the days of summer dwindled - we started gearing up for the first day of school. The first day of school brings its own excitement. We started shopping for new clothes and school supplies. Backpacks were picked out and new shoes were tried on. Pencils were sharpened and pencil boxes were packed. As the first day of school quickly approached, clothes were picked out and laid out to make the perfect first impression at school.

The first day of school this year was extra special, and maybe even a little extra scary. I will have 3 kids at 3 different schools. Yes, I said 3. One of those schools will be new and my oldest "baby" will be entering the 7th grade at the middle school. Oh.my.word.

As with every first day of school, pictures must be taken of new backpacks, shoes, outfits and smiling faces. August 18th in front of our house was not any different than any other year, except for the fact that I keep adding children to the picture. ;)

It's hard to believe that in 7 short years, we've gone from Care Bear light up shoes to Aeropostle and Converse.
Then and Now

The 2011-2012 school year has begun. And I can tell, it's going to be a fun one!
