Family Rules

Every family should have something like this hanging in their home.

Family Rules

Ours is hanging by the front door. I got lucky and found this one at TJMaxx, so I didn't have to make it. But I love that it has lots of the things that I try to instill in the girls. Because it's very important that you "Love Each Other".

Signin' and Eatin'

Haylie is an eater. It's amazing she doesn't weigh 40 pounds the way that girl packs it away. She's also been signing up a storm; coincidentally "more" and "eat" are her favorites. :)

From summer to school

The 10 weeks between June 3rd and August 18th have flown by. The days were filled with trips to the pool, swim lessons, swim practice, swim meets, more time at the pool.

I truly enjoy the lazy, or not so lazy and rather busy, days of summer. I love spending the days with my girls and lounging around in the mornings. I love spending the day watching them play, fight and enjoy their time together. I love taking them on too many trips to 7-11 to get Slurpee's and candy. I love having them make signs for the ice cream truck so she can make a stop at our house. I love watching them swim in our new pool. I love the cooking on the grill and eating out on the patio.
Celebratory Slurpee's
But as much as I love this time, 10 weeks of 4 kids - 3 of them born within 5 years of each other - is a lot of time. So as the days of summer dwindled - we started gearing up for the first day of school. The first day of school brings its own excitement. We started shopping for new clothes and school supplies. Backpacks were picked out and new shoes were tried on. Pencils were sharpened and pencil boxes were packed. As the first day of school quickly approached, clothes were picked out and laid out to make the perfect first impression at school.

The first day of school this year was extra special, and maybe even a little extra scary. I will have 3 kids at 3 different schools. Yes, I said 3. One of those schools will be new and my oldest "baby" will be entering the 7th grade at the middle school. Oh.my.word.

As with every first day of school, pictures must be taken of new backpacks, shoes, outfits and smiling faces. August 18th in front of our house was not any different than any other year, except for the fact that I keep adding children to the picture. ;)

It's hard to believe that in 7 short years, we've gone from Care Bear light up shoes to Aeropostle and Converse.
Then and Now

The 2011-2012 school year has begun. And I can tell, it's going to be a fun one!

Cutie girl

Haylie is a ball of smiles and giggles. Seriously, one of the happiest babies ever.

She even makes riding in the car seat seem like so.much.fun.

Candyland Sweetness

September is a big month - Delanie turns 6 and Haylie turns 1. This year, by Delanie's request, we are having a joint party for the girls. Delanie always says that Haylie was the best birthday present that she ever got, so it's fitting that they celebrate this year together. Next year, when Haylie is tearing through her stuff, she might not feel the same way, so I'll take it while I can. :)

I gave Delanie a couple of choices for a theme for the party and she chose Candyland. Oh man, this is going to be fun! Bright, colorful and sweet - just like my girls.

Today I had a little mini session for the girls, so I could design their invitation. Here's a little peek at my cuties.
