Valentine's Outfit for my little Valentine

I recently found this fabric tutu dress tutorial. I couldn't believe how adorable it was. I knew D would love it, so I decided to make a Valentine's Day one for her.

All you need is some 3" strips of fabric (I used about 40) and elastic for the waist. I just double-knotted each strip and voila - Fabric Tutu Skirt.

Isn't she adorable?!?!

It was such a hit for her, that the little sister wanted one too. :) Pictures of Miss A in her skirt coming soon.

Another Valentine's DIY

I always like to decorate the house for the upcoming Holiday, makes for a pretty house and the girls LOVE it too. Just simple things like adding window clings to the windows, a little fabric to the front counter and so on.

As many people these days, I'm on Pinterest and am always finding some fun ideas. Many of them are SO simple I often wonder "why didn't I think of that?!?"

Here's another one of those ideas. All you need is:
Glass hurricane candle holder
Candle
1 pkg conversation hearts

I put the candle in first, then poured the hearts around the sides, this way the candle sits flat and you see more of the hearts. I also use the LED candles, then there isn't mess with wax and when your kids decide to eat the center piece, the don't burn themselves. ;)

Here's the finished product!

Happy Valentine's Day

I came across this great Holiday idea a few weeks ago on Pinterest. The blog has a free download, but it wasn't printing really well for me. So I whipped up my own version of what she did and it turned out great! Such a cute and fun way to add a little Holiday to your home. And it's very easy too! I'm planning on making one for all of the Holidays, can't wait!

Happy Valentine's Day

Mixer made fancy

There is nothing better in a kitchen than a Kitchenaid Mixer. When the hubby bought it for me years ago, he wanted to go retro and original. So he got me white. Not what I would have picked, but who am I to complain.

With all of the new colors that are out, I always pull my mixer out and wish that it was some bold and fun color. But there is no buying a new mixer when the one you have works just fine.

By chance I came across some blogs that had the bloggers fancy up their mixers with vinyl. So guess what - operation Make Mixer Fancy - was underway.

I found some great vinyl lettering at this Etsy shop - Top Line Designs. It came today and now I am a happy owner of a fancy mixer. :)

Merry Christmas!

Christmas lights, Christmas tree, decorations, letters to Santa, candy canes, cookie decorating, the giggles of excitement as December 25th grows near. It has to be one of the most favorite times of the year in our house.

Things this year were a bit of a whirlwind, but we managed to pull off a fantastic Christmas for our kids. Watching their excitement build as the day got closer and closer was well worth the stress that we endured as we scrambled to pick out the perfect little somethings for our precious little herd of girls.

The best present of all had to be SNOW in our front yard on Christmas morning. You see, it doesn't snow where we live. But my husband, the man of grand ideas, made snow for our girls to wake up to on Christmas morning. He got up every hour and 15 minutes to check the temperature and snow-maker contraption her made. And boy did it work!

I don't think any other house in our town had snow that morning. :)

If snow wasn't enough, Santa also made a visit to our house. He brought everything from scooters to car seats to clothes. What a guy!

Delanie thought it was amazing that the wish she literally shouted out to Santa was delivered. That Santa, he's the man!

Whenever we go to Target the girls ask for this big bucket of cheese balls. It's a big bucket of processed cheese, but for Christmas - what the heck!

All in all Christmas was a day of family, food, presents and love. What better way to spend the holiday.
